The Global Alliance for Behavioral Health and Social Justice is powered by the passion, expertise, and diverse perspectives of its members. By volunteering on a committee or task force, you can help advance behavioral health, champion social justice, and create meaningful change around the world.

Whether you’re an experienced professional, an emerging leader, or a dedicated advocate, your voice matters. Volunteer service provides opportunities to collaborate with colleagues across disciplines, influence the direction of the organization, shape educational programming, and strengthen our global impact.

Membership & Communication Committee

Help grow and engage our global membership while expanding the organization’s reach through strategic communications, member recognition, and outreach initiatives.

Programming Committee

Help plan the educational program for the 2027 Coming Together for Action Symposium by developing engaging, high-quality learning experiences.

Scientific Committee

Serve as an abstract reviewer and help ensure a rigorous peer-review process for presentations at the 2027 Coming Together for Action Symposium.

Student & Early Career (SEC) Task Force

Support the professional growth, leadership development, and engagement of students and early career professionals.

Awards Committee

Help identify future Global Alliance award recipients by reviewing nominations and selecting individuals or organizations that have demonstrated outstanding commitment to behavioral health and social justice.

Finance Committee

Provide guidance on the organization’s financial health and help ensure long-term sustainability.

Global Mental Health Committee

Advance initiatives that address mental health challenges and promote equitable behavioral health worldwide.

Migrant & Displaced Persons Task Force

Support programs and advocacy efforts that improve the health and well-being of displaced and migrant populations.

LGBTQ+ Task Force

Promote equity, inclusion, safety, and human rights for LGBTQ+ communities across the globe.

Planning & Fundraising Committee

We are seeking a few additional volunteers in the Twin Cities, Minnesota area to help plan and support fundraising efforts for the 2027 Coming Together for Action Symposium.

Eligibility: Global Alliance members in good standing

Term: One-year appointment, renewable
